M1 Chip is Loved by Volta
Yes, the Apple M1 Chip is Loved by Volta
Our faithful iMacs are getting rather long in the tooth, if truth be told we have been hanging on for Apple to release a completely new design of the iMac rather than just the performance improvements released on an annual basis.
Waiting to update our tired workhorses until the replacements look visually different may seem a little sad, but the designers at Volta are very particular.
The iMac has in fact, been basically the same design for around a decade, so we did expect the re-design in 2020 but like many other things – it didn’t happen, but we are hopeful 2021 is the year.
What Apple did announce though, was the introduction of their brand-new Apple silicon, we heard some great things about it but it’s currently only available in a limited amount of their products.
So, we decided to buy a Mac Mini with the new M1 chip to see just how much Apple have managed to move things on and we are pleased to report the difference is amazing. The new chip is so much faster and handles all of the tasks we have thrown at it with unbelievable ease.
And this is before Adobe, the industry standard software in the design and print industry, have produced updated, dedicated versions of their software to get the best performance out of the new Apple chip.
So we are pleased to say, we will be upgrading our old faithful iMacs as soon as the suitable machines become available, that will mean we can work faster and deal with complex graphics files far easier.
Well done Apple the M1 Chip is loved by Volta
